SB 1014 (Hertzberg)

CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates is wholly committed to addressing the community health center workforce challenges and are advancing an array of budget and policy solutions. Many other stakeholders are also offering solutions to the workforce challenges including Senator Herzberg and SEIU via the introduction of SB 1014 (Enhanced Clinically Integrated Program for Federally Qualified Health Centers).

SB 966 (Limón)

In May 2020, DHCS temporarily allowed FQHCs and RHCs to bill and receive PPS for services provided by Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) contingent on the declared COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE).

 
 
 

BUDGET

We are nearing the end of budget season in California. Governor Newsom’s May Revision budget was released in mid-May; the Legislature released their joint budget agreement at the beginning of June; and final negotiations are currently taking place leading up to the state’s constitutional requirement to pass a balanced budget by June 15th.

SPP Communications Efforts

CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates is working closely with ALZA Strategies, a communications firm, to increase the amount of media coverage on the need to raise the SPP while also thinking through strategies in reaching legislative members.


Preparing for the End of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency & Impacts on Medi-Cal Coverage

During the national public health emergency (PHE), the annual reevaluation of ongoing eligibility for public programs, including Medi-Cal was temporarily paused to ensure ongoing access to health coverage during the pandemic.

NACHC Policy & Issues forum 2022

NACHC Policy & Issues Forum (P&I) is an annual advocacy event hosted by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). P&I draws health center leaders from across the country to focus on critical health care issues, in addition to collectively advocating for community health center (CHC) priorities with their Members of Congress.
