State Legislative Wrap up

This year, COVID-19 threatened our institutions and communities at their core, but it did not silence our collective voice. Telehealth Campaign Focus

In an effort to build on the advocacy momentum from the last few months of the year, Advocates launched a six-week Telehealth Campaign to generate momentum leading to the start of the Legislative session and the Governor’s budget proposal.

FEDERAL Advocacy

This fall California’s community health centers (CHCs) continued to grapple with rising COVID-19 cases, but Congress was not able to agree on additional COVID-19 Relief legislation.  The House of Representatives adopted a slightly smaller version of the HEROES Act that had passed in May, while the Senate held multiple votes on small, targeted relief bills but was unable to pass any of them.
